Our Purpose
The North Carolina Educational Scholarship Fund Board of Directors believes that the education for young people of North Carolina is of paramount importance to the future of this state. Therefore, the Educational Scholarship Fund was organized to raise money to fund academic scholarships for the young women who compete in the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Organization.
Giving Back
The annual scholarship initiative generates more than $100,000 per year and includes at least twenty Benefactor Designated Scholarships ranging in size from $1000 up to $4000 each.
More than $618,000 has been raised to fund scholarships with minimal administrative costs.
In 2022, NCESF has paid out an additional $25,685 in scholarships bringing the total of scholarship funds paid to over $434,200. There is also over $23,400 on reserve for pending scholarship payment requests bringing the grand total of scholarship funding to more than $457,000.

Scholarship Impacts
In a number of instances, scholarship payments have reduced a candidate’s educational debt from 50% up to 100%, and several have graduated from college debt free.
Charity begins at home.
There is 100% participation by NCESF Board Members as scholarship benefactors! The Board will not ask a prospective donor to invest in the scholarship funds if board members do not themselves invest!
Continuous Growth
Within the last five years there is been a steady increase by Miss North Carolina and OT Alumnae, both state and local titleholders, investing in the Scholarship Fund.
